How Long is the TopKid Program?
The TopKid program lasts for 2 weeks. Starting with a kickoff in the school, and ending with the final Fundraising Event.
Why do you need to be in the school?
In order to teach kids the success skills and character traits that will help them, we need to meet them where they are most likely to learn - in their classroom. This also allows the teacher to hear and contribute to the lesson, tying it to teachings they are already working on in class.
How much more can my PTA/PTO expect to earn with TopKid
A typical school will earn 56% more fundraising dollars with the TopKid program. Expenses vary due to differences in what event schools want to do, however EVERY school should expect to make more than they would on their own, working with TopKid.
How do you motivate the students to participate?
We find many many student WANT to participate, and are excited to do the fundraiser, when they learn about it and how the money raised goes back to their school. Additionally TopKid works with teachers to give class prizes (such as extra recess, or bring a toy to class) - instead of individual prizes.
Individual prizes by nature are cheap and inexpensive, and mostly just create clutter and trash for a family to throw away.
Class prizes promote a sense of team and community in the class, and often are more meaningful and memorable for students once they are achieved.What do parents need to do?
As much or as little as you want! TopKid takes care of everything!
For younger kids they will need help knowing who to ask for donations, and how to give out their donation link. Also we always encourage students to talk to their parents to understand who they feel comfortable talking to about the fundraiser.
As for volunteering, many parents will have an opportunity to volunteer at the event if they wish to do so.What are the character values that are taught

About Us
Hi I'm Michael, founder and owner of TopKid. I am a former Evening Street Elementary PTA President and current youth soccer coach.The idea of TopKid came about as all ideas do, slowly and then all at once. As a coach I have seen first-hand the impact positive adult role models can make in kids' lives. I have witnessed how education, accountability, and true support of our children empower them to be successful in whatever they choose to accomplish.My time on the PTA introduced me to many people in similar positions around central ohio, and I commonly heard about the same frustrations PTAs/PTOs face: Having to repeatedly ask the same parents to help, kids aren't interested or are unaware of fundraising, the school does too many fundraising events, the ideas are stale and boring.TopKid was created at the confluence of these ideas and problems. I truly believe kids, in their nature, are proud of their school and want to be given the opportunity to help fundraise. Our job is to find and give that motivation, education, proper support, and direction to the students.
